Google has introduced Gemini, a powerful generative AI model designed to analyze text, audio, video, images, and code.
It’s a natively multimodal model, setting it apart from other offerings.

Google plans to integrate Gemini into various products, such as the Recorder app and Gboard’s Smart Reply.
The company aims to leverage Gemini to maintain its dominance in the AI space.
Looking ahead to 2024, experts predict a surge in the use of generative AI, with a focus on more specialized, task-specific models and the democratization of AI and machine learning.
TECHnalysis president Bob O’Donnell said, “2024 is going to be the year when it really explodes, because every day people are going to use [AI],” told Yahoo Finance.
Daniela Rus, director of MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory confirmed, “With the major foundational models that are working increasingly better, we really do see a democratization of AI and machine learning.”
“We really see that a lot of people with access to a phone or a computer are now able to take advantage of what the technologies can do for them. And so, I see increasingly more people using the tools for their own personal purposes,” she added.
“2024 is going to see the launch of AI-equipped PCs; PCs that actually can do some of the work that we’ve traditionally had to do in the cloud, on device, and that’s going to make things very interesting,” O’Donnell explained.
Additionally, the year is expected to see the launch of AI-equipped PCs, making AI capabilities more accessible to a wider audience.
