The Biden administration has launched the AI Safety Institute Consortium (AISIC) with over 200 tech companies, academic institutions, and research groups to develop ethical guidelines and safety standards for AI technology.

The consortium, under the U.S. Department of Commerce, aims to follow President Biden’s executive order mandates and includes major tech players like OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, and academic institutions like MIT and Stanford.

This marks a major U.S. government effort to oversee AI development and represents unprecedented cooperation between the government and private sector to ensure AI safety.
